“That which the Spirit testifies unto you even so I would that ye should do in all holiness of heart, walking uprightly before me, considering the end of your salvation, doing all things with prayer and thanksgiving, that ye may not be seduced by evil spirits, or doctrines of devils, or the commandments of men; for some are of men, and others of devils.” (D&C 46:7)
Clearly, taking away $600 billion, that currently subsidizes health care for older, sicker, and poorer people, and giving it, in the form of tax cuts, to affluent households and health industry corporations, is not “upright and holy” behavior. Taking from the poor and needy is a sin, but to do so for the express purpose of rewarding the rich is breathtakingly evil.
The “American Health Care Act” (AHCA) that recently passed in the US House of Representatives, is NOT a health care bill. It is a transfer of money from the poor to the rich. It has been sold to the American people with lies. The dimwit Republican President is still telling people the whopper that if this bill becomes law (by passing in the Senate), medical insurance premiums will go down and medical coverage will improve. (!!) He claims this even though the bill does absolutely nothing to reform medical costs. He seems to believe that reality is whatever he claims it to be.
Every member of the House representing Utah voted for this monstrosity. Bill supporter Congressman Paul Labrador of Idaho actually made the following boneheaded comment to a Town Hall meeting in his district: “Nobody dies because they don’t have access to health care.” Sadly, all four of these Congress-critters claim to be Mormon.
I believe the Republican Party has been “seduced by evil spirits.” They frequently support and promote lies for political gain (who knows if they actually believe them), they consistently support the rich and comfortable at the expense of the poor and suffering, and (as seen in this photo) they are actually proud of their malevolent behavior.
