Corrupt judges destroyed the government

“And now it came to pass that when Nephi had said these words, behold, there were men who were judges, who also belonged to the secret band of Gadianton, and they were angry, and they cried out against him.
And those judges were angry with him because he spake plainly unto them concerning their secret works of darkness.” (Helaman 8:1,4)

In the Book of Mormon, the secret band of Gadianton was determined to permanently take over the government by appointing Judges who would serve the wealthy at the expense of the working people.

In 3 Nephi, chapter 6, the Lord began to send forth men “preaching and testifying boldly of the sins and iniquities of the people.” (3 Nephi 6:20). This upset many of the rich and powerful.

Now there were many of the people who were exceedingly angry because of those who testified of these things; and those who were angry were chiefly the chief judges, and they who had been high priests and lawyers; yea, all those who were lawyers were angry with those who testified of these things. (3 Nephi 6:21)

The powerful priests and lawyers were so upset at their lies and secret activities being exposed, that many “who testified boldly” against their sins, “were taken and put to death secretly by the judges.” (3 Nephi 6:23).

Eventually, the judges who had killed these prophets were brought before the governor of the land to be tried for their crimes. However, the accused judges “had many friends and kindreds” who conspired together “to deliver those who were guilty of murder from the grasp of justice.” (3 Nephi 6:27-29)

And they did set at defiance the law and the rights of their country; and they did covenant one with another to destroy the governor, and to establish a king over the land, that the land should no more be at liberty but should be subject unto kings. (3 Nephi 6:30)

As it turned out, the Republicans the king-men “did not establish a king over the land.” Instead they “did murder the chief judge of the land” and completely “destroy the government of the land” such that the government collapsed and the country fell into regional tribalism. (3 Nephi 7:1-4)

And the regulations of the government were destroyed, because of the secret combination of the friends and kindreds of those who murdered the prophets. (3 Nephi 7:6)

Now all this was done … and all this iniquity had come upon the people because they did yield themselves unto the power of Satan. (3 Nephi 7:5)

Footnote: Brett Kavanaugh, a known partisan political hack from the Bush years, proved himself in open Senate testimony to be an entitled, angry, intemperate, liar.

A vote from any two of these five Republican LDS Senators could have prevented this unstable, ill-equipped, vengeful man from sitting on the US Supreme Court: Mike Crapo-Idaho, Jeff Flake-Arizona, Dean Heller-Nevada, Orrin Hatch-Utah, Mike Lee-Utah. The current Republican candidate for Hatch’s seat, Mitt Romney, has also said he would have voted for Kavanaugh.

I hope no one who is familiar with the Book of Mormon will ever again vote for any of these men.

  1. The correlations are to plain to be missed, so we need to be vigilant. I do not want to dismiss either testimony, but I don’t feel qualified to judge either, especially when there is such a thing as false testimony. That does not preclude me from being vigilant, though. Thanks for sharing your insights.

  2. Yes, Brian but when most LDS (can I still use the term?) think of corruption they think of Nancy Pelosi. Why? It makes no sense. Like I said before we are a One Party Republican Church Period.

  3. Well things might not be as hopeless for Democrats as I said, just might. Do you remember the MASSIVE turnout for Bernie in our Democratic Pres Primary? If Bernie had headed the ticket last time things might have been a lot different. But what did the tone deaf party brass in Utah do? Gave half of our delegate votes to Hillary! We call them “super delegates.” Democratic? NO Super? Double NO.
