Dictator on “Day One”

A number of news articles have come out documenting Donald Trump’s authoritarian fascist plans if he should get re-elected. Trump addressed this issue in a recent interview with Sean Hannity. Hannity, trying to give Trump a chance to deny any dictatorial designs, tossed him a softball question.

Hannity: “You are promising America tonight. You would never abuse power as retribution against anybody?”
Trump: “Except on Day One.”

Trump, who has no problem telling lies, only had to deny his plans by saying, “Of course not.” Instead, as he usually does, he doubled down. Though his acolytes will deny it, Donald J. Trump DOES plan to become a dictator. He said it himself.

He is NOT kidding

Trump claimed that he would only be a dictator for “one day,” and only in regards to closing the border and increasing oil drilling. But, seriously, even if that were true, how can oil drilling be dramatically increased in just one day? And how can this guy build a border wall in one day, when he couldn’t do it in four years?

More to the point, when, in all of history, has there ever been a dictator who voluntarily backed down after just one day?

FauxNews, of course, again made excuses for Trump’s remark by saying that he was “just joking.” But everyone knows that bullies always use that excuse when they are caught.

Half the country supports the end of democracy

Since that day, Trump has been repeating his “Day One Dictator” line at rallies. One might ask why he would keep saying such a shocking thing if he wants to win an election. The answer is because his fans love it.

Supporters of Donald Trump no longer believe in democracy, they no longer “support and defend the Constitution of the United States,” they no longer believe in the rule of law, they no longer believe in equal rights under the law, and they attack, rather than defend, voting rights. Trump fans do not support our traditional allies in the world, they admire lawless dictators and strongmen in other countries and they want an authoritarian, fascist, form of government to be established here in the United States.

Donald J. Trump has shown us clearly who he is and what his plans for our country are. He will not succeed unless the American people enable him to. If we elect him, we will deserve what happens next….

  1. Being a loyal tithe paying LDS I wonder why our newspaper of record – The Deseret News – ignores this crisis completely. COMPLETELY. So I figure they are like the deer in the headlights not knowing how to advise us, or they have made a deal with Trump. I suspect the latter with total despair.
